Intermediate Systems Administrator


Reporting to the Manager of Network Operations, you will participate in managing the company’s IT infrastructure. This includes being responsible for the company’s co-located production infrastructure as well as engaging with the Development and Customer Support groups on a regular basis to provide support as required.  You will be expected to respond rapidly to a dynamic and ever changing landscape of needs, while always looking to the future to ensure that what is done will have longevity and is applicable to the business.  There will be a requirement to perform on-call duties with occasional evening and weekend work.

Technical Requirements

  • Proficient in Linux, specifically RHEL/CentOS
  • Experience managing and tuning application servers, in particular JBoss and Tomcat
  • Experience managing and tuning MySQL including replication
  • Experience using virtualization, specifically KVM, Xen and Citrix XenServer
  • Experience with networking including TCP/IP, Routing, DNS, NFS, SSH, SMTP and SNMP
  • Experience managing and using monitoring tools such Zabbix or Nagios
  • Experience working in a SaaS and/or Managed Services data center
  • Familiarity with high availability and load balancing architectures
  • Experience with HP ProLiant servers and Juniper switches, firewalls and VPNs is an asset
  • Experience with the LAMP stack is an asset
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Windows and Active Directory is an asset
  • RHCE or LPIC2 Certification required
